New Horizon Band

New Horizon Band

The Flathead Valley New Horizons Band was founded in 2010 for the purpose of providing an opportunity for senior adults to learn to play an instrument in a group. Our program welcomes adults who have never played music before as well as those who have not played for many years. Many of our group have started as beginners. We have fun learning together and find great satisfaction in our musical growth. Our beginning band focuses on learning to play and our experienced band plays for community events. We believe “You are Never too Old to Play Music!” If you have a desire to learn to play music , please join us!

The conductor is Eileen Alexander. You can contact her at: egsaxa@hotmail.com or call at 406-260-8539 for more information.

The group rehearses on Thurdays at Snappys Sport Center at 6:30 to 9:00pm. Call to check rehearsal schedule.

Three Roses and a Thorn

Three Roses and a ThornThe 3 Roses and a Thorn is a clarinet quartet that was formed in 2001 with members Dinah Weimer, Roberta Struck, Maryruth Fallon and John Hamel on bass clarinet. Most of their repertoire is arranged by Dinah.

The group plays in assisted living homes around the valley and has performed at First Night Flathead, Nordicfest, the Columbia Falls concert series, at the Northwest Montana Power Association's Old Fashioned Threshing Bee, Cafe Max Soup Co., and even for a wedding reception and a funeral. Their music consists of folk tunes, upbeat sing-along songs, old standards, some classical and and contemporary arrangements, plus Christmas and seasonal selections. We occasionally add a 5th clarinet for 2 new ragtime arrangements.

For more information or possible bookings, please contact Maryruth at 406-752-1490 or maryruth@centurytel.net
